[Utility] Sculptris - Free digital sculpting/3D modeling program

We've featured some tools for modelling before, but never for a sculpture  software. Here is one for you, Scluptris. This is a work-in-progress sculpting tool that has been developing since early December 2009. 


Its main feature is dynamic mesh tesselation that will provide additional detail where necessary, without the user needing to worry about it.

String Sclupture Craft BookSculptris is a free digital sculpting/3D modeling program that is both powerful and extremely easy to use. It provides a digital modeling experience that is very similar to creating real life models out of clay, whereupon the virtual clay simply materializes from thin air and can be quickly shaped, prodded, cut, modified, and added. In practice the effect is very pleasant; allowing your 3D creations to grow organically, on-the-fly, as the idea(s) come to you.




In simple terms, it's sculpting software. It's free, and it's accessible. I once downloaded Blender and spent an hour trying to figure it out to no avail. With Sculptris, I got it, started playing around, and in less than an hour I created the rudimentary pig-man that you see in the image. And I have no previous experience with any sort of 3D graphics (except for a bit of SketchUp).
